We have officially completed two full weeks of school and our new routines are beginning to feel more comfortable. Also making us feel more comfortable is the promise of fall weather coming soon with September’s arrival and the arrival of our Fall athletics bringing our school communities together.
As we transition into the fall season, we want to highlight the excitement building around our fall sports. After much anticipation, our teams are now ready to showcase their talents on the field, court, and track. We wish our athletes and coaches a successful, healthy, and safe season.
A particularly exciting event on the horizon is the annual Battle of the Expressway, scheduled for next Friday, September 13th! This rivalry game is always a highlight of the season for PC North and PC High, bringing our two sister school communities together in a spirited and competitive atmosphere. We always enjoy the camaraderie that our sports foster each year.
And finally, tonight we also want to highlight what a wonderful night the Putnam City Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was last week. Our athletics department and everyone who participated did a fantastic job and the event was truly a celebration of our District’s rich athletic heritage. We honored the 2024 inductees who have all made significant contributions to our athletic programs. It’s always a joy for me to see the varied and impressive accomplishments of our District’s alumni. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and achievements continue to inspire our current and future athletes in Putnam City Schools.
Let’s all cheer on our students, teachers and coaches, and make this a fall semester to remember.

The refillable water bottle idea has helped our students reduce the amount of single-use plastic bottles, minimize waste, and realize the importance of protecting the environment!
Putnam City hosted the annual Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet. This is one rare occasion where alumni from all three Putnam City high schools come together. They celebrate one another's accomplishments while basking in the remanence of some of their best memories!
