Teachers and staff across the District started this week off with the third annual Putnam City Teaching and Learning Conference. Our Academic Services Department did a phenomenal job organizing an event that brought our District together and exemplified this year’s theme, “What If, Starts Here.”
This was the biggest conference yet, with more than 150 sessions offered by nearly 200 presenters and included support from several community partners that supplied food, drinks, and supplies. This gave every teacher the opportunity to explore new concepts, collaborate with new colleagues, and experience new things in workshops and sessions tailored to their interests and professional goals. It was truly a day full of energy, ideas, and hands-on learning, which was a clear reflection of the passion our educators bring to their classrooms every day.
As we move forward into this next chapter, the second quarter of the school year, that same “what if” mindset will continue to guide us, asking what’s possible for our students, our schools, and our community.
Speaking of community, we’re also looking forward to Thursday night’s Putnam City Schools Foundation Wall of Fame event at OKANA, where we’ll celebrate Mayor David Holt as this year’s inductee. It’s always inspiring to see the continued success of our alumni and the immense support of our Foundation at this wonderful yearly event.

October 25 - PC Foundation/PC Student Life Hispanic Heritage Parade & Festival
Due to forecasted severe weather for Friday, the following games have been rescheduled:
-This week's PCW away football game against Capital Hill is now Thursday, October 23rd
-This week's PCN home football game against Sapulpa is now Thursday, October 23rd
Second graders danced, crafted, and shared family stories while learning about Hispanic Heritage Month during a special rotation. They celebrated the traditions that make our classrooms shine. This is just one of many ways Putnam City is observing Hispanic Heritage Month!
Western Oaks Elementary teamed up with the Bethany Fire Department for a sky-high STEM challenge! Students tested their egg-protection designs as firefighters dropped them from the top of the ladder, learning how engineers reduce impact (and getting a close-up look at some very cool safety gear).
While OKC voters headed to the polls last week, Apollo Elementary’s 5th graders held an election of their own!Through the Kid Governor program, students learned what it means to research issues, campaign, and make their voices count.
...and pajamas are the perfect outfit to eat a PB&J in! Windsor Hills kindergarteners celebrated learning their letters with a special treat before fall break. Their tastebuds won't let them forget this lesson any time soon.
With careful guidance from our campus police officers and JROTC instructors, PC High and PC West cadets had live-fire training, emphasizing safety, precision, and focus. After their training (and clean-up), they enjoyed a cookout together! Experiences like this give students a real-world look at the responsibilities that come with military service.
At the 2025 District Teaching & Learning Conference, every educator chose sessions that fit their students, their style, and their goals. From reading literacy to AI integration, they left with new tools and strategies they can use in the classroom immediately.
We sure do! Why? Because they are all graduates of Putnam City Schools! How cool!
Mayor David Holt, OKC - PCN Grad
Mayor Amanda Sandoval, Bethany - PCW Grad
Mayor Vickie Douglas, Warr Acres - PCH Grad
The softball team wrapped up an almost perfect season, the volleyball team claimed the district championship, and registrar Audrea Krise was named Putnam City’s Support Staff of the Month. We love celebrating wins from across our schools!
2nd Grade Teacher Stephanie Wehrli from Western Oaks Elementary was awarded a $1,000 grant to make learning even more magical! Wehrli shared that she’s thrilled to use the grant to bring learning to life through reading games, science experiments, indoor recess activities, mini flashlights for Flashlight Friday reading, classroom read-aloud books, and more.
PCN Leadership students recently took a trip to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma for some volunteer hours. PC students in the community making a difference always makes us PC Proud!
