I want to begin tonight by extending my heartfelt gratitude to our community members for their support in passing the 2025 Innovation Bond. This community-centered initiative passed with an overwhelming 70% approval, and we are proud to note that voter participation increased by 25% compared to previous years. This remarkable engagement reflects the dedication and commitment our community has to the future of our District. We are eager to track the progress of the Bond projects and see the transformative impact they will have on our District over the next five years.
As many know, our District spans three cities: Oklahoma City, Warr Acres, and Bethany. We always enjoy collaborating with city leadership to improve our District. Recently, we learned that PC West graduate Amanda Sandoval was elected Mayor of Bethany. A special congratulations to Mayor Sandoval! We take great pride in seeing our graduates achieve success and make meaningful contributions to our community. We look forward to working with Mayor Sandoval!
We would also like to commend our winter sports teams on wrapping up their seasons. Their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship have made us proud. A special shoutout to our high school swim athletes who are competing at the State Championship this week! We wish them the best as they represent Putnam City on the big stage.
Lastly, we want to express our sincere appreciation to our students, families, faculty, and staff for their patience and understanding during last week’s bitterly cold winter weather. We know that there is no substitute for in-person learning and the invaluable interactions between students and our dedicated teachers; however, your adaptability and collaboration in the face of these challenges are commendable. We are grateful for your support in keeping students creatively learning and exploring despite the inclement weather disruptions.
